This eleven day itinerary moves through Uganda's western safari circuit before crossing into Rwanda for a finale in the Virunga Mountains. Every park and every experience has been sequenced deliberately, building in intensity from the open savannah game drives of the early days to the intimate forest encounters of the final stretch. By the time you sit with mountain gorillas on day ten you will have already tracked chimpanzees, cruised the Nile, watched tree climbing lions and crossed one of Africa's most scenic borders. Day 01 :

Arrival in Entebbe

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your Ruhuuka Travels guide. Transfer to your luxury accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala. Settle in, enjoy dinner and rest ahead of the journey ahead. Overnight Entebbe.

Day 02 :

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast depart for Murchison Falls National Park, approximately a 4 to 5 hour drive north. En route stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a white rhino tracking experience on foot. Continue to the park, check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon head out on a game drive across the northern bank of the Nile. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03 :

Murchison Falls Boat Cruise and Game Drive

An early morning game drive before breakfast to catch the park at its most active. After breakfast board a boat at Paraa for the cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Drift past hundreds of hippos, Nile crocodiles and dense waterbird flocks as the roar of the falls grows louder ahead. Lunch at the lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 :

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast depart Murchison Falls and drive south to Kibale Forest National Park. Check in and enjoy lunch on arrival. In the afternoon join a cultural immersion experience with local communities around the park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 05 :

Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

An early breakfast before heading to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking with experienced trackers. Spend time with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon explore Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary on a guided swamp walk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 06 :

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast depart Kibale and drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon embark on a game drive through the park searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes and the diverse wildlife of the savannah. Dinner and overnight.

Day 07 :

Lion Tracking and Kazinga Channel Cruise

An early breakfast before heading out on foot for lion tracking in the park with expert rangers. Return to the lodge for lunch then in the afternoon board a boat for a cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Hippos, crocodiles and hundreds of bird species line the banks in extraordinary numbers. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 08 :

Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions and Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive in search of the famous tree climbing lions. After the game drive continue southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in, enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure preparing for the gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight.

Day 09 :

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

An early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing and gorilla family assignment. Trek into the ancient forest with experienced rangers and trackers. Spend one magical hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family, observing them at close range in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for a late lunch and a well deserved rest. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10 :

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

After breakfast depart Bwindi and cross the border into Rwanda, transferring to Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga Mountains. Check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon take a leisurely walk around the base of the volcanoes or relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11 :

Golden Monkey Trekking and Departure to Kigali

An early breakfast before heading to the park for golden monkey trekking through the bamboo forest. After the trek transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
